Pittsburgh RAT Pack |
2008 Euro Rider Rendezvous
<Preliminary Info - Subject To Change>
The 2007 WV RAT Gathering is an informal gathering of mid-Atlantic Triumph owners for three days of great roads and fun. This is NOT an official RAT Raid. It's simply a chance for regional Triumph owners to get together for a fun weekend without all the organizational overhead of running an "event". There are no event fees, catered dinners or T-shirts. It's about getting together to ride during the day and enjoying each others company at night.
This years Gathering is being organized by Ron "Woody" Woodhead from the Nittany Pack and Mark "Hawkster" Hawking from Lexingon.
When: August 24 - 26 (Friday - Sunday)
Where: Canaan Valley Resort (http://www.canaanresort.com). Canaan Valley is located on Route 32, approximately 10 miles north of Route 33 (northeast of Elkins).
Who's Coming? - All Triumph owners in the Mid-Atlantic region are welcome! Most of the RAT packs from PA are interested as well as packs from all the adjacent states including KY, SC and OH. Bring your friends, even they don't ride Triumphs. Everyone is welcome.
What Does It Cost? - There are no event fees, but everyone is responsible for their own expenses including lodging, food, tasty adult beverages, petrol, bail money, etc. We have a group rate on lodging ($79/night per room plus tax, double occ). Camping is available.
What Are We Going To Do?
Friday: Ride to Canaan Valley, enjoying some great twisties
on the way
Friday Night: Meet in the resort bar to socialize and plan
rides for Saturday
Saturday: RIDE! You can do a good 300 mile day (9-5) and
be back for dinner
Saturday Dinner: Meet en masse in the nice resort restaurant
at 7pm
Saturday Night: Campfire hosted by the VA and KY Triumph
riders
Sunday: Ride home enjoying more WV twisty goodness
Lodging: We have a block of 10 rooms reserved in the Raven Lodge. As long as we reserve at least 10 of them by mid-August, we will get a group discount. The rooms will cost $79 per room per night (double occupancy). This is "prime" season, not the off-season like last year, so the rooms are a little more expensive. Still, $40/night per person (plus taxes) isn't too bad if you split a standard room (2 double beds) with someone. Cabins and Camping are available at regular rates (sorry, no group discount). More info is available at the resort web site. Be sure to mention "Triumph RAT" to get the group rate in the lodge.
Food - people are on their own for all food expenses. The resort has a pizza/sandwhich shop, a nice restaurant and a bar on site. We hope to descend on the nice restaurant Saturday night and have a group dinner with separate checks. The current plan is to meet at the restaurant at 7pm. The restaurant is just down the hall from the bar.
